Serving Derby
Looking for a Sikh wedding photographer in Derby? Derby is a city with a large South Asian community and many banqueting venues. We photograph Sikh weddings across Normanton, Littleover and Allestree, at gurdwaras, banqueting suites and marquees, covering the Anand Karaj and its celebrations with reverence.
From the maiyan and mehndi to the Anand Karaj and the reception, we document the whole celebration with a calm, unobtrusive eye, always respectful of the gurdwara. We are London-based and travel across Derbyshire and the wider region for Sikh weddings. The Anand Karaj and its celebrations are a speciality and distance is never a problem.

What we offer
We photograph the four laavan and the kirtan with the reverence the Guru Granth Sahib deserves.
Heads covered, never turning our backs to the Guru, we know exactly how to work respectfully inside the darbar.
Hand-finished albums that hold the whole story of your celebration.
Every tradition
No two Sikh families keep their customs in quite the same way, and we photograph yours as you keep them. From the roka and kurmai to the chunni, the maiyan and the vatna, we follow each event closely and respectfully.
We are used to the emotion of the doli as the bride leaves, the joy of the langar and the music of the sangeet, and we cover them all without ever getting in the way. It is something we have done for couples across Derbyshire for many years.

The whole celebration
Your celebration unfolds over several days, and we are there for all of it. It might open with an intimate maiyan and a joyful jaggo, before the wedding morning brings the milni and the calm of the darbar.
From the four laavan to the doli and the reception, we follow the day at its own pace. Tell us which events matter most and we will build the coverage around them, in Derby and across Derbyshire.
Why choose us
Having photographed over a thousand weddings across twenty-five years, we know the flow of a Sikh celebration in Derby, from the morning kirtan to the doli, and we are ready for all of it.

Where we travel
For couples in Derby, working with a photographer who travels widely is an advantage, not a complication. We know Derbyshire well, including Normanton, Littleover and Allestree, and we are glad to discuss your gurdwaras, banqueting suites and marquees and the route between them in advance so the day runs smoothly.

Good to know
Popular dates in Derby book up well ahead, so we recommend enquiring as early as you can. Tell us your date and we will confirm availability straight away.
Yes. For larger Sikh weddings we bring a second photographer so the milni outside and the kirtan inside the darbar are both fully covered.
Yes. The milni, the meeting of the families, and the energy of the baraat with the dhol are some of our favourite moments to photograph.
It depends on the size of your celebration. Many weddings are covered beautifully by one photographer, but for large multi-event days in Derby we bring a second so two places at once are always covered.
You will receive a small preview soon after the wedding, with your full edited gallery and album to follow. A Sikh wedding produces thousands of frames, so careful editing takes a little time and is well worth the wait.
