The Anand Karaj
We photograph the four laavan and the kirtan with the reverence the Guru Granth Sahib deserves.
Award-winning Sikh wedding photographer in Hitchin. From the milni and the gurdwara ceremony to the reception, we document every moment with warmth and respect.
Serving Hitchin
Hitchin is a characterful market town, and we love photographing Sikh weddings here. Across Letchworth, Stevenage and Luton we cover the milni, the Anand Karaj and the four laavan with a careful, respectful eye.
We move quietly through the day, from the morning kirtan to the last bhangra, so the story of your Sikh wedding is told in full. We are London-based and travel across Hertfordshire and the wider region for Sikh weddings. The Anand Karaj and its celebrations are a speciality and distance is never a problem.

What we offer
We photograph the four laavan and the kirtan with the reverence the Guru Granth Sahib deserves.
Heads covered, never turning our backs to the Guru, we know exactly how to work respectfully inside the darbar.
Hand-finished albums that hold the whole story of your celebration.
Every tradition
No two Sikh families keep their customs in quite the same way, and we photograph yours as you keep them. From the roka and kurmai to the chunni, the maiyan and the vatna, we follow each event closely and respectfully.
We are used to the emotion of the doli as the bride leaves, the joy of the langar and the music of the sangeet, and we cover them all without ever getting in the way. It is something we have done for couples across Hertfordshire for many years.

The whole celebration
The finest Sikh wedding photographs are spread right across the celebration, not saved for the Anand Karaj alone. The maiyan and sangeet often hold the warmest moments, and the milni sets the tone for the day.
We document the baraat, the four laavan, the doli and the reception with the same attention, telling the full story from first event to last. In Hitchin we are glad to cover a single day or the whole celebration.
Why choose us

Good to know
Popular dates in Hitchin book up well ahead, so we recommend enquiring as early as you can. Tell us your date and we will confirm availability straight away.
Yes. For larger Sikh weddings we bring a second photographer so the milni outside and the kirtan inside the darbar are both fully covered.
Yes. The milni, the meeting of the families, and the energy of the baraat with the dhol are some of our favourite moments to photograph.
It depends on the size of your celebration. Many weddings are covered beautifully by one photographer, but for large multi-event days in Hitchin we bring a second so two places at once are always covered.
You will receive a small preview soon after the wedding, with your full edited gallery and album to follow. A Sikh wedding produces thousands of frames, so careful editing takes a little time and is well worth the wait.
