Faith and Tradition
Familiar with Iyer, Iyengar and South Indian customs, we keep to the timings and respect the sacred moments.
Documentary-style Tamil wedding photography in Brighton, covering the kashi yatra, the garland exchange and the sacred muhurtham with elegance and care.
Serving Brighton
Brighton is a vibrant seaside city with grand venues, and we love photographing Tamil weddings here. Across Hove, Worthing and Shoreham we cover the muhurtham, the maalai maatral and the thali ceremony with a careful, respectful eye.
From the nichayathartham and the mehndi to the muhurtham and the reception, we document the whole celebration with a calm, unobtrusive eye. We are London-based and travel across East Sussex and the wider region for Tamil weddings. South Indian celebrations are a speciality and distance is never a problem.

What we offer
Familiar with Iyer, Iyengar and South Indian customs, we keep to the timings and respect the sacred moments.
From the morning muhurtham to the reception, told as one flowing story.
Beautifully bound albums and fine prints designed around your favourite images.
Every tradition
A Tamil wedding is rich with precise, meaningful ritual, and we have learned the order and the timing of each. The day often opens with the kashi yatra, the playful moment the groom pretends to renounce married life, before the maalai maatral, the exchange of garlands high above the guests.
Then comes the oonjal, the gentle swing ceremony, the kanyadaanam, and the heart of the wedding, the maangalya dharanam, when the thali is tied to the sound of the nadaswaram. We know exactly when each happens in Brighton, so nothing is missed.

The whole celebration
A Tamil wedding rarely fits into a single afternoon, and we love that. The celebration often begins the day before with the nichayathartham and a mehndi, the henna and laughter of the women around the bride.
The wedding morning then arrives early with the muhurtham, the kashi yatra, the garland exchange, the oonjal and the thali ceremony, followed by the reception. We can photograph a single key event or several days, and for the largest celebrations in Brighton we bring a second photographer.
Why choose us
Having photographed over a thousand weddings across twenty-five years, we know the flow of a Tamil celebration in Brighton, from the oonjal to the nalangu, and we are ready for all of it.

Where we travel
For couples in Brighton, working with a photographer who travels widely is an advantage, not a complication. We know East Sussex well, including Hove, Worthing and Shoreham, and we are glad to discuss your temples, kalyana mandapams and banqueting suites and the route between them in advance so the day runs smoothly.

Good to know
Auspicious Tamil dates in Brighton book up well ahead, so we recommend enquiring as early as you can. Tell us your muhurtham date and we will confirm availability straight away.
Yes. For larger Tamil weddings we bring a second photographer so the mandapam rituals and the guests are both fully covered.
Yes. We are comfortable photographing respectfully inside temples and kalyana mandapams, working quietly around the priests and the sacred fire.
You will receive a small preview soon after the wedding, with your full edited gallery and album to follow. A Tamil wedding produces thousands of frames, so careful editing takes a little time and is well worth the wait.
It depends on the size of your celebration. Many weddings are covered beautifully by one photographer, but for large multi-event days in Brighton we bring a second so two places at once are always covered.
